DANGEROUS GOODS

DG

Dangerous Goods are materials or items with hazardous properties which, if not properly controlled, present a potential hazard to human health and safety, infrastructure and/ or their means of transport.

Safety is everyone's responsibility and failing to declare dangerous goods can result in fines or imprisonment. By not declaring dangerous goods you're potentially putting your own life and/or the lives of many others at risk!

These include obvious things such as: explosives, radioactive materials, flammable liquids, dangerous or volatile chemicals, strong acids, compressed gases, poisons, batteries and aerosols.

If you are unsure whether the product you wish to send is classified as Dangerous Goods, you can search online for the products Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) or Safety Data Sheet (SDS).  See Section 14 (Transport Information) this will specify if the product is classified Dangerous or not. If the product has an assigned UN number then it is dangerous.

In particular Freightshop is required to follow the rules set out by IATA and/ or ICAO for Dangerous goods transported by Air. (please note there are different classifications when sending by Sea (IMDG) & Land (ADG).
